This research is aimed at recovering the Tsáchila herbalist Culture and gastronomic UNI-SHU Cultural Center Chiguilpe Commune, in which there are variety of medicinal and culinary plants formerly Poné (shaman) and Women Tsáchila used and used to date. The purpose of this research is focused on the rescue and preservation of ethnic culture and their customs Tsáchila to publicize to society through community tourism that helps the community in economic and social growth. The first phase of the research project "Study of culinary and medicinal use of native plants UNI-SHU Cultural Center Chiguilpe Commune of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas", consisted of interviewing the representative of Cultural Centre UNI-SHU Augustine Calazacón , information was collected on the use of plants in medicine and cuisine and what kind of pathology plants are used. For the preparation of this document has been used information obtained from observations, interviews, photographic records and videos made during and after each study visit.
